Job Type: Description:- Endoscopy Nurses are nurses that specialize in assisting doctors in an endoscopy suite. These nurses have specialized knowledge of gastrointestinal conditions and diseases. The nurse is responsible for the intake of the patient including history, obtaining and reviewing lab work and preparing patient for the procedure. They provide the patient with education, before and aftercare instructions and emotional support. The endoscopy nurse must assess, evaluate, and intervene when necessary to ensure patient safety during diagnostic tests or procedures. They are responsible for checking and maintaining equipment, ensuring sterile technique, monitoring and documenting the procedure from admission to safe discharge. At least on year recent experience in Endoscopy suite and current BCLS Certification required.
Job Type: Description:- Cardiac Catheter Laboratory nurse is a key member of any cath lab team. They are specialty trained highly skilled nurses that work with doctors and technicians to perform cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties and valvuloplasties. Additionally, cath lab nurses assist doctors when implanting pacemakers and cardioverter-defibrillators. They are expected to work closely with patients and families providing preop, intraop and postop education and care.
Job Type: Description:- 4W: 16 beds - this is the state licensed unit-so RNs MUST have fingerprints to work on this unit
5W: 20 beds
Average patient ratio is 1:5-6 normally, but can be up to 8 if census peaks.
Patient population is mostly substance abuse patients that are relatively stable, however, should a patient become more acute, theyll be transferred to the ER.
Nurses will be expected to be able to draw blood, perform IV cannulation, hang IV fluids, etc, so they will need strong medsurg/tele experience. Must understand CIWA/COWA tools and procedures.
