Job Type: Description:- LTAC RN is a nurse that works with acutely ill patients in a long term setting. These patients are considered stable but acutely ill, usually coming from a step down or ICU inpatient setting. An LTAC nurse possesses critical thinking skills and has extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to treat a variety of traumatic and or disease processes. LTAC nurses work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and oversee wound care, ventilator care, rehab, occupational therapy, physical therapy and nutrition. They assess, evaluation, intervene when appropriate and remain in constant communication with the resident MD to discuss changes and progress in patient’s conditions.
