The nurse is responsible for operating all technological equipment utilized in the unit. The functions performed require judgment based upon the applications of scientific and nursing knowledge and are guided by the established philosophy and policies of the organization and the unit. The Emergency Room nurse shall have a comprehensive knowledge of emergency room nursing. Nurses should be trained for advanced, emergency and trauma nursing, Must demonstrate ability to use advanced physical assessment skills as well as specialized nursing knowledge to handle emergency situations utilizing specialized equipment, procedures and medications specific to injury or disease process.
