These self-directed nurses ensure they follow doctor’s orders to start, monitor, and perform hemodialysis continuously. They vigilantly monitor the patient and equipment to ensure safe treatment. They have increased knowledge of kidney function and its effect on electrolytes working closely with the doctors and hemodialysis team. They also are responsible for education the patient and families on the procedure and giving emotional support. Hemodialysis can be performed in hospitals, supervised home settings or outpatient dialysis centers. One year Hemodialysis experience and BCLS required. ACLS preferred.

The case manager interviews the patient evaluates the patients’ needs and coordinates care. Such care includes physical rehab, psychosocial, psychological, equipment and medical treatments. RN license, at least one year recent case management experience required.
